This matches any commit that contains "mend". If you go far enough into the results, https://github.com/danrue/oh_my_fortune/commit/36bb8d9c5a3de31bb83c268adde886cc1a232a93 … shows up.

SELECT COUNT(1) FROM [bigquery-public-data:github_repos.commits] WHERE subject = "mend" -- 2,135 of 198,687,417 commits
-
I prefer "message" column: SELECT COUNT(1) FROM [bigquery-public-data:github_repos.commits] WHERE message IN ('mend', 'mend\n') --1,904 hits

Two good answers, but to get detailed numbers (more than
pages), you'll probably want to use de BigQuery dataset : https://cloud.google.com/bigquery/public-data/github …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I also see "fix" or "commit" on their own a lot. I've rejected libraries/tools for that reason. The debugging pain is not worth it.

but "fix" and "commit" are intentioanl. "mend" in the example is a typo; the user wanted "--amend".

Why "mend" and not "end"? There's only one 'm' in '--amend'. Also, to avoid this: `git config -g alias.amend commit --amend`
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
