Try disabling animations in Windows 10. You'll notice that it suddenly takes 0.5s for the explorer to draw one single window.

Would be interested in mac as well. I know when I switched to mac (from linux) I noticed text input felt 'laggy'. Now used to it, but still.

I'm experiencing quite the opposite. Same laptop with Win10 works faster than with ArchLinux, even fine tuning the kernel and enabling trim
