they (and maybe 25 others I can think of) provide something that's in high demand, but each in a unique way

My YouTube JavaScript channel outperforms my blog, even though content is identical. Blog discovery hasn't really happened for me.

I can see youtube/twitch/etc., but writing on FB or G+ seems like a good way to make sure value doesn't accrue to you.
