Fun fact: on discovering MSVC doesn't like something in Hotspot code, I run CLion code inspections, and just fix the warnings it highlights.
Oh wait, this has enough false positives on things like "never used" that I can't just use the auto-fix thing on everything. Argh!

Yes, C(++) is weird like that. I can hide the uses pretty well. Local analysis, e.g. width/signness mismatch, works great.

Sometimes I just sanity check with global text search, which gives a nice overview without losing edit position.
