OTOH it also says "A JSON parser MUST accept all texts that conform to the JSON grammar"; maybe you're supposed to accept and do 2-5?
If you believe http://json.org you should probably turn it into Infinity, but many parsers won't do that. Is that a bug?
but even that's ambiguous. "A number is very much like a C or Java number". That could be interpreted a number of different ways.
