it still does the slow animation either way though, no? Same with the 3D effects when switching between tabs.

on iPad it default opens in background and it's plenty fast. I'll look into this setting on my iPhone!

on my iPhone (6), the animation is much less intrusive, but the entire app hangs until the animation completes
