I’m in a place where I can find out which papers are bogus, but I wonder what grad students do?
Just saw CMU professor cite a bogus paper on HN to defend against vaporware claims. I was worried about students but this also hurts profs.

Is that whole project bogus or vaporware in your view, or just the specific paper that got referenced?

The paper makes untrue claims and the public claims about the project are half untrue, although there's actually real value too.
