@bdmurdock What does fair mean in this context? FB, Apple, Twitter, Netflix, Microsoft, Linkedin, Amazon, etc. all that pay much.

@danluu I agree with you on pay for the most part. It's the interesting work part that I disagree with.

@bdmurdock Ok, I'm more in agreement there, although I think that there are a handful of companies that are competitive there.

@danluu sure, there are outliers anywhere you look, but you can't really bank on getting into an outlier

@bdmurdock Agree, but the odds of that are still better than the odds of a startup being successful, IMO.

@bdmurdock I also think you may be overestimating the difficulty of getting a job at Google or other interesting company.

@danluu pretty darn difficult for many of us to relocate to bay area :-)
