Q for OS instructors: Why do we lecture on inverted page tables? Is there some system I am unaware of that actually uses this idea?
@johnregehr I'm guessing you're aware of ppc and sparc/solaris? Are those too obscure enough that you expect students won't have used them?

@danluu certainly the students will not have used those, and I didn't know they used inverted page tables. -
