iirc the whole “firefox quantum” project focused heavily on latency instrumentation and golfing: https://hacks.mozilla.org/2017/12/actual-input-latency-and-the-hasal-testing-framework/ … supposedly the new tab animations were based on some research on making it feel snappy, can’t find my source for that though ISTM that they Care(tm)?

yeah idk but there's a lot of perf tracking here, and if you track perf typically stuff improves. i suspect this has something to do with the ipc layer cc

do you know if there are similar latency issues with the rest of the api? last time I tried using web audio I encountered noticeable latency in both FF and chrome, but pegged it as something wrong with my machine starting to think maybe it wasn't me after all :p
