When talking about static types you can't just take the union of all the best features in all type systems. Like if one gives you A but not B and another B but not A, you can't say static typing gives you A and B. You're going to write your code in just one of them!
But when people respond in the same way to a post by Jeff Kauffman, it's very obvious that the comment is a poor quality comment by someone who didn't read the post. Maybe this is too facile? But I think it explains why some bloggers I read get so many obviously bad comments?

Mostly when I see a paper I'd like to read, especially if it's something that needs real attention, I'll not get to it for weeks or months. By then there's no point in going back to an HN or Reddit thread. Generating insightful comments takes time.

At least for me. It's a big part of why I started blogging: I wanted to write about things without the time-based incentive to write shallow impressions.
