Hillel says he'll interview engineers to see how software is different from "engineering" and people with (for example) no CivE knowledge drop in to explain how software is different from CivE.
Where do people get the confidence to say that their work is so uniquely novel that it's "something that has never been done before in the history of the universe", that the field is obviously totally different from another field they know nothing about, etc. ?
Well, I knew a lot of CivE folks and it was so hard it drove them to drink. A lot. Something to do with materials apparently. I could never work out what exactly, since I've never seen one sober enough to pronounce the whole thing comprehensibly. Said only half-jokingly
