Would you know some other books of that kind on gafa or big corp ?
Some other big co books (not exhaustive): Inside Intel Hatching Twitter Monkey Business (about DLJ, an I-Bank) I've heard Windows NT development was really wild. It's covered in Show Stopper, but I haven't read the book and don't know how it compares to the over-beer stories.
This is of course in direct contradiction to the warm and fuzzy picture of themselves they're trying to promote today.
Hell, it's in direct contradiction to what they claimed at the time.
I can tell you that the thing with the evangelists... They weren't the only ones doing that. I remember we used to organize oruselves at the university LUG to go to Microsoft conferences and ask the hard questions.
Alex St John was pretty embarrassing in boot magazine, often too

It’s very different today.
Is that the same St. John whose one daughter called him out after he published some stupid sexist "career advice"?
