But http://downdetector.com scales all its graphs so that almost any increase in "error report" rate looks outage-like. And they appear to use regex matching to determine "error report" rate, which results in reports that a service IS NOT down getting counted as "error reports".
Due to the same y-axis scaling issue, even though http://downdetector.com now "says" Google has recovered, some services have curious glitches. For example, if I try to download photos from Google photos, I get a recursive zip file with nothing in it (except itself).pic.twitter.com/R90jWGXNhc
Given the scaling, could these graphs just be indicating an increase in traffic, and a corresponding level of errors that comes with more traffic?
