When my wife did a professional printing the first time, I downloaded the current pdf spec to understand some settings. It was >1200 pages including 3D JavaScript. Since then I wonder what Adobe wanted to achieve with that and I don’t wonder about pdf exploits anymore.

JS in PDF makes perfect sense. It's bringing inc and paper constraints to PCs and tablets that is stupid. Interactivity is the whole new dimension of possibilities we're vastly underusing in e-books. It's cars vs. faster horses dichotomy really.
