Our society has suffered an iconoclasm. All of our symbols are defunct and many have been outright smashed. There are consequences to this.

they're not all negative, and not all positive. much of what was destroyed was not worth preserving. much what was destroyed should not have been smashed so hastily.

without good spirituality we get terrorism, school shootings, rampage killings, a general attitude that nothing is sacred and everything is permitted (only requires selfish justification), and an inability to imagine a better future
