Our society has suffered an iconoclasm. All of our symbols are defunct and many have been outright smashed. There are consequences to this.
-
-
without melting-pot pluralism we suffer through alienation, atomization, shredded social fabric, "us" vs. "them" wagon-circling, endless culture war, and lack of common ground to produce mutual empathy with
-
without good skepticism we see the growth of know-nothingism, elevation of ignorance, faith over reason, hucksterism, gullibility and credulity, and vulnerability to hostile psy-ops
-
without good spirituality we get terrorism, school shootings, rampage killings, a general attitude that nothing is sacred and everything is permitted (only requires selfish justification), and an inability to imagine a better future
-
without classic amateurism we get credentialism, gate-keeping, calcified and unresponsive institutions, stagnation and/or decline in standards, "prison planet" mentality, and no joy of life or spirit of adventure

Could you explain what you mean by "dignity-culture norms"?
-
reasonable description here, contrasted with honor/shame culture and victim (oppresor/oppressed) culture http://scholars-stage.blogspot.com/2015/09/honor-dignity-victimhood-and-death-of.html …
