weird. I would put it closer to "non-mainstream researcher", and can be for good or bad reasons. I realize alt-nutrition has some moony guys so I'm not making a compliment either, but I wouldn't think of reaching your extreme.
-
why not though? I'm categorizing it as as a variety of malicious lying. is it not that?
-
people (say, wikipedia) usually have the separate term negationism for that, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_revisionism … you can disagree with wikipedia, I do on various topics, I just have no reason here yet

this isn't revising moral judgments about history. this is lying.pic.twitter.com/ZT8aJTK1vM

was it ah honest mistake, or lying/making it up on the spot? has he lied beyond trying to make a literal six year old feel better?
-
according to the article it was done intentionally in order to meet some criteria of current year gender politicspic.twitter.com/tUIoSV8nb5

meh. worst is that there were some women in combat positions in WWII, the snipers are particularly famous. So it's not even an USEFUL lie, as you say. If revising is narrowed to that sort of stuff, I agree it's bad, obviously
-
the thing that blows my mind the most here is the inability to see that soldiers are the victims of war just as much as civilians. fetishizing the military and elevating the ultra-violence of state on state warfare is sickening.

In mathematics the equivalent to historic revisionism would be publishing anything incorrect.
-
not quite. it would be publishing something you know in advance is incorrect and concealing that you know that (hoping nobody catches your error)
