'immigrants are at risk of increased violence, despite all the studies that say otherwise, because they don't assimilate completely, and this means we should forbid immigration instead of encouraging assimilation more' is absolutely one hell of a take, good fuckin lord

where did s/he say that? I read something more like "second generation immigrants are at increased risk of alienation and atomization as well as crises' of identity and place, which often leads to radicalization and/or violence"

here, https://twitter.com/MimeticValue/status/991523550434676737?s=20 … also atomization is absolutely a feature, not a bug, communities are to be treated with utmost wariness

Mimetïc Value @MimeticValueI hypothesize higher mental illness, gender dysphoria, terrorism radicalization, cult membership, incels, suicide, and other consequences of alienation among immigrant kids due to the confusion and loss of identity. Individualism fails to solve the problem.@martyrmadeShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Also associating higher incidences of gender dysphoria to this isolation is pretty shitty to trans people.

Hah, nice deflection, but no; I merely noticed it after the fact in a laundry list of aspersions cast on the unwanted population, but go with what allows you to dismiss the objections, I guess.

My point is that people feel unwanted and seek unconventional solutions to existential problems, because they are atomized. Gender dysphoria is just one type of identity dysphoria that occurs in deterritorialized youths.

Atomization's an unqualified good, though. It liberates the individual from the grip of the socially coercive construct 'the community'.

well, I don't even know where to start on that one but we profoundly disagree. thanks for sharing your perspective though.
