political anarchism has this problem. spiritual anarchism (e.g. Taoism and adjacent schools) does not.

it's a stance that can be analogized to a political stance. "free" isn't a stance, it's an (idealized) state of being. describing a spiritual philosophy or tradition as anarchist locates the school within a broader context more effectively.
