Am I going to have to be the one who says the obvious? We need a real war. A big one. We've got too many young (except for that guy) males, and that's how we've always dealt with surplus non-breeding males.

It's wrong, but not incorrect. So far, it's the only universally accepted form of population control. TBC - It's not something I *want*. Forced monasticism is another social control. There will never be "sex equality" (for whom?), just drafts and the clergy.
