I will never understand why Samuel R. Delaney isn't recognized as one of the leading voices in SF of the last century. Was reading Babel-17 on my flight and it doesn't just feel current, it feels like it fell through a wormhole from a distant future

he's not? Been seeing his name on "must read SF authors" lists since as long as I can remember. Maybe it's that he's never been optioned for film/TV?

Maybe he is and I'm just not running in the right circles. He's ripe for adaptation but I almost don't want to wish that fate on his work.

the dirty truth is he's still alive and hollywood finds that annoying to work around.

He would probably have strong opinions as well, which is another point against. Whatever they try to adapt first will be a huge leap of faith as well, since he definitely takes advantage of the limitless budget of print.

possibly the main point against. Alan Moore just completely disavowed all of his adaptations, severed creative and financial ties, which is why they happened at all I think. Some of them aren't half-bad!

The Justice League adaptation of "For The Man Who Has Everything" is great!

Also, with Legion's success this would be a great time to do Swamp Thing

again. there was a Swamp Thing show many years ago, and it was mostly crap. agree though, it's great source material and getting someone to finally do it justice would be amazing.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098919/ …

it's almost unfair how good Legion is because it reduces my ability to enjoy decent but lesser works. it's the best thing on TV right now imo.
