in the early 90s (right around when Spreadsheets were being heavily developed) there was a larger push in general to develop visual programming paradigms. it flatlined when the web became "the next big thing". time for a comeback maybe?

Looking at Light Table and I think I see an issue: with Excel, you see the results of your "function" (i.e. your formula copied down a column, or whatever) across every invocation, all at once. This is pretty important. When building some sort of financial projection model...

it's infinitely easier to understand what is going on - and, where and why the model is going wrong - if you can see every period at once.
