This is a month old thread and has been surprisingly active for almost the entire month so obviously people have a lot to say about it. Learning how to discuss the topic without appearing relativistic or nihilistic is hard though.

I get it. Of course values are relative, not universally applicable, etc. making it an ingroup/outgroup thing. Think this issue is at the root of a lot of the depression felt in current societies. An agreed upon set of values helps strengthen trust that there is meaning to life.
