life is making me into a buddhist
buddhism is making me into a hedonist (like, cmon, buddhists won't admit, but they haven't figured it all out)
hedonism is making me into a rationalist scifi hardworking obsessive nerd (none of that dumb hedonism shit) #activelife
I'm confused

oh, yeah, I actually wasn't talking anything about guilt (maybe I'm a cunt, eh), work is part of hedonism project, clumsy how I categed hedonism into dumb and smart version buddhism pushes me towards hedonism not because of suffering but because smth just seems off, anti LIFE...

the problem with hedonism (I oughta know, I do a lot of it) is that it is ultimately and proximately unsatisfactory. that doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't seek relief. you just won't really end your suffering that way.

well, yeah, but that's why I say smth seems a bit off, I don't know what reality is about (or is up to), but I doubt it's about ending suffering really, this "end suffering" thing is some kind of camouflaged hedonism (and I almost threw the word soy or smth in there)

and I know "end suffering" really refers to fixing ego-bugginess, which ofcourse I don't fully understand ok, so maybe it's camouflaged nihilism... am I a degenerate rationalist?

Buddhism has been criticized as camouflaged nihilism since forever. I'll controversially agree that that is actually what some Buddhists get into, and it's a mistake. I'm a bad Buddhist though. Nobody should listen to what I say about this.

the way I've understood "end suffering" is that it means "cultivate equanimity" which means "master your mind enough so that you can choose how to feel about what is happening, and not just react like an animal" Honestly, that's a much lamer result than what many would hope for
