coming from someone who had high paying madison avenue job and larps as a communist (and gets mad when all the communists are pro gun) its reallll rich how many home invasions happen a year? are those people larping?https://twitter.com/KrangTNelson/status/977619717996400640 …
probably is but it really makes me wonder how prepared a people are to shoot and (probably) kill someone. also makes me wonder how thoroughly people think through the consequences. what if there's 2 of them? what if they're armed too but wouldn't draw unless you do?

if ppl die in your neighborhood, and its p common for home invaders to kill you if you are home while they are doing it, it makes sense to me to at least attempt to fight being killed
-
you can just go to a gun range and practice
-
I'm unconvinced. it's not hard to hit a target standing 10 feet away from you. it's hard to be willing to pull the trigger.
-
if someone breaks into your home unwilling to pull the trigger??? that doesnt sound right to me at all not to mention someone buying a gun selects for probably being more likely to fire once it gets into the situation
-
I dont think it actually is like movies and ppl cant handle things, I think most people actually can handle life and death situations with violence
-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killology the name, I know, ugh military situation a bit different but it turns out, actually, whole lot of people don't shoot to kill in life-or-death combat situations
-
going into a foreign country and killing other soldiers is not comparable at all to being in your home and people breaking in
-
its like, if you started to do amateur ufc fighting, it might be hard to get yourself in mindset to fight not comparable to being attacked on the street

anyway, that's kind of a distraction. a really good door lock or a really big dog are probably better for home protection. the "well-regulated militia" clause was supposed to mean something too. the vision was for a society where weapons training as civic duty was a thing.
-
I dont buy a "better door lock" is better then a gun re home invasion

I'm forgetting you're in Texas and life is horizontal. Hello from vertical NYC.
