it's revealing when someone says men are "designed for violence." i'm tall and strong and 99.9% of the time that just means i'm helping get jars off tall shelves and then opening them. if i were designed for violence i would have a rock-hard chitinous carapace covering my organs

These soft creatures with no natural defense mechanisms and who become useless at night are better adapted to running long distances than any other creature alive. Clearly we are killing machines and not wandering opportunistic foragers

Humans: Designed for violence Also humans: Have no claws, middling strength, and flat, dull teeth that cannot easily rip out a major vein

Strength: Can eventually outrun any animal on earth. Difficulty: Poor vision, sense of smell, can't see in the dark, easily out-sprinted by anything we pursue. If we can lock a cheetah in a 50-mile hallway, we will catch that fucker. But it turns out they can turn, hide, etc.

human vision is remarkably good, especially in color-range and pattern detection (though that gets a big assist from our massively developed visual cortex). we have poor low-light vision though.
