Omg women engineers stop asking for so little money!! I am responding to at least one junior engineer today telling her I’m going to triple her requested rate. In CA your floor should be $50 per hour, and $91k per year is literally California Labor Code 515.5 law.

As a senior engineer who has climbed the ranks.. your rates are off. A junior who has no actual work experience.. male or female is usually around 35-40k a year.

That’s neither realistic nor legal in CA. I’ve grown startup teams from 10 to hundreds of people and hired scores of engineers, including pipelining juniors from boot camps. Insisting a junior engineer make barely above SF minimum wage is outdated and absurd.

If a junior makes 90 that means a senior would be pushing 200.. that's absurd.
