his biblical lecture series are similar. they're a blast, highly recommended, but he goes into that mode often. (the entire lecture series is very loosely planned, he basically just goes up and speaks his stream of consciousness to the crowd, as he readily admits)

(i personally loved Frozen -- but what I loved was the music i think? and it was just light popcorn fun. honestly don't remember what the plot was. let's see the prince was a sociopath and the cool dude was the loner with the reindeer? meh. also have a huge crush on kristen bell

but he's right, stories like lion king and pinocchio weigh WAY more, even though i don't really think in those terms about stories until i focus on that. but this is also why the two Andrew Garfield spiderman outings were utterly forgettable. zero actual metaplot

and this is why the marvel movies kill, even though the critics rarely spot all the threads -- there's toooonsss of metaplotting all through the MCU stories. Ultron was an absolute epic in fact
