I think @JBennet deserves some credit for trying to put together an interesting op-ed section that will challenge NYT readers' assumptions. Whether that's an optimal subscription-procurement strategy, I don't know, but it seems like a worthy intellectual endeavor.

Now, I don't actually read NYT op-eds, but I routinely see both the lefty left and the righty right complaining about them, which is probably an indication that there's viewpoint diversity going on?

I am personally of the opinion that most op-eds are not worth reading. The only op-ed type content that I value highly is in the SSC or ribbonfarm vein... and those aren't really news commentary most of the time so idk if that even counts
