Manufactured statistics and unhelpful "gun safety" rules are the direct equivalent to RW "informed consent" and fetal untrasound shenanigans w/abortion.

I just want to know what kind of laws they think would prevent household accidents? Special police that randomly knock on doors of registered gun owners to inspect their storage cabinet?

They want to require trigger locks and safes that render a weapon useless for home protection. They also want to jail gun owners who refuse.

Do they also want to legislate mandatory locks on stovetop gas burners? Mandatory locked sheathes for kitchen knives?

Pfft, of course not, that would be paranoid! (Meanwhile, their toddler's playing with matches in the bathtub while they post stupid musket memes and & pretend not to understand what "well regulated" means in 18th century english.)

this was REALLY easy to google for http://www.constitution.org/cons/wellregu.htm … appears to be a synonym of "properly functioning"pic.twitter.com/18eB8cD5MB

It is. The idea of pervasive "government regulations" had yet to take hold & the phrase would have been unrecognizable in that context.

Looking back at recent behavior of urban police forces I think I would greatly prefer a properly functioning citizens militia over the very dysfunctional professional police force.

pointless speculation though. with a society as generally dysfunctional as this one I have little confidence that a citizen's militia would be properly functioning.

this is not the world I want to live in
good for them though, I guess? Would be nice if they weren't just using their militia for tax avoidance.

Oh, me neither...but I think objectively it was a successful example.
