I guess if we have to have a culture war I would at least like it to have better aesthetics. What we ended up with is quite a bit like "Joey has cooties!" level of discourse. Is it too much to ask for our culture warriors to be decked out in power armor?

I'm not political enough to be an ideologue, it's more a matter of relative distances. Healthcare is good, prisons bad, drugs good, foreign intervention bad, education good, work bad hashes out to be pretty far left of center in this day and age.
