I'm suspicious of fields where teachers sell themselves to students harder than students sell themselves to teachers. The field may be deep and meaningful but its pedagogic culture may be a lemon market due to low teachability. Used cars are great. Used car salesmen not so much.

I know a few coding bootcamp instructors btw. They're good people, good programmers, and decent teachers. The bootcamps themselves are in a really problematic place right now though. It's a farm for false hopes basically.

my hypothesis is that if you are capable of learning what you need to learn to be employable at a coding bootcamp, you could have also self-taught that and saved the money. maybe the bootcamp makes it go faster? hard to know. if you're not capable, the bootcamp won't help.

I hope Venkat is brainstorming a 2x2 on the teachability vs learnability axes pair right now
