the idea of Inanna _is_ the real Inanna. the Babylonians had their own contemporary versions of Snow Crash. Probably some edgy bronze-punk authors writing at the time.

Babylonian bronze-punk authors scored hipster credibility by reimagining the heretofore forgotten deities that were buried in the neolithic revolution. Their fans complained about merely worshipping the idea of Grazglan, the lord of grazing herds.
