tilt your head around and look at it differently. When you normally think of self-regulating emotions you imagine a cool, collected, Obama-esque person. What if there is another kind of control which is essentially the ability to switch into id mode at will.

I don't think so. It's a regular superego, just conditioned by long immersion in a very different training set than you or me (someone labeled it the rat-pack era consciousness... glitz/glamor/casino crap). You forget he's 70. You can see more raw versions in old videos.

if I'm going armchair psychologist on him though I would say that his narcissistic personality disorder does interfere with executive functioning a lot of the time. he seems to have paroxysms of egomania.
