against my better judgment (because this thread is more joke than serious I think), I think it's worth pointing out that the man's reaction to this woman being mildly rude to him was to scream abuse at her and then hit her in the face

fwiw I behave opposite to the woman here. when I see a tired looking homeless guy on the train I give up my seat for him. they get treated like garbage all day and small kindnesses can make a big difference. small slights can set them off too though.
