Politicians have little accountability beyond "public opinion" and "peer opinion", both of which, being human, are easy to game. https://twitter.com/ClarkHat/status/925774636046082054 …

In this sense, "going wrong" for a politician has little to do with policy/social outcomes and everything to do with perceptual/PR outcomes.

Branding and politics are all about trust. We can see that human trust is easy to manipulate. What do? A Modern Solution: Brand Blockchains

I was trying to make a "Like Distributed Trust, But For Brands" joke but I guess it fell flat.

or step it down. Political block-chain is interesting and figuring out applications is good brain food.

Blockchain Trust is Mechanical Trust. It is underwritten by Human Trust in experts, networks, science, repeatability.

Political Trust is a direct application of Human Trust. It cannot be mechanized (like a ledger) until we have fully mechanized The Human.

Confusion between trust as measure of mechanical vs human authenticity makes the idea of a Political Blockchain absurd & plausibly humorous.

money as token stand-in for trust/status in human relationships. blockchain tokens as domain specific money. I don't think its absurd.

Trust is multifaceted, implicit, and time-varying. It cannot be easily computed, and even if it could, it cannot be easily transacted.

this is good skepticism. I'll have to sharpen my thinking on the idea. Thanks!

further thoughts: - foundation of trust is authenticity - authentic means "truth to original source" - transactional vs human authenticity?

          - trust as a service https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Check_verification_service … - in what ways could a human act be authentic? - in what ways should a politician be authentic?
