his context was speaking out against the dominant monoculture that shaped his youth. he didn't live long enough to see that culture fall.

but I think the core insight holds: culture is totalizing, even multiculture. if you don't want to be eaten by it, it's not your friend.

I think reach relationship DOES threaten to eat you and that the amount of misery experienced by bad relationships is evidence of this.

evidence of subcultures turned rancid are all around us today. this is the zeitgeist of 2017. bad cultural hygiene practices.
