Divinity OS 2 feels like a plot minefield. Every time I talk to an NPC there's a series of horrible damaging plot explosions.

Also combat is a series of horrible actual explosions. It's pretty nerve-wracking and I'm constantly quitting without saving.

I think it's possible for an RPG to be way too railroaded (see: any Final Fantasy) but a minefield isn't much improvement.

the good news is you can cross the minefield in like 6 different ways, and probably only lose a foot or two in the process

I miss stuff like the old Might & Magic games where a big part of the game was figuring out which obstacle to take on next.

fwiw, I found that I needed to play through act 1 twice to kinda *get* the way the game world works. also, save scumming helps.
