I think the difference between patriotism and nationalism is the same as the difference between the two things that both share the word "pride". Pride in the good deeds, accomplishments, and attainments of yourself and your group is related to patriotism. 1/2

Pride in the birth-accidental, involuntary, and/or innate traits of yourself and your group is related to nationalism. The former is justified, the latter is egoic delusion.
