Is there some reason America should care about some journalist killed abroad? I mean rationally.

I'm pretty insulated from political news, actually. I vaguely recall various Saudi lobbying efforts, and yes, I oppose them, but I don't think a military response is warranted, if that's what you're proposing.
-
I'm not. I haven't proposed anything, but if you're asking for my armchair opinion, I'd propose recalling the ambassador and investigating all of those influence campaigns.

they're a cartoonishly evil regime and the only reason we deal with them is because of oil. our military bases in KSA are the most significant reason Al Qaeda turned on America in the first place. our entanglements there have already done tremendous damage.
-
It seems we're substantively in agreement, but that none of your beliefs are really precipitated by the recent journalist slaying as such.
-
it hasn't changed my prior opinion, which was already that Saudi Arabia should be considered an enemy nation. this does reinforce my views though.
-
Just so.

the murder of Kasshogi is definitely substantive cause to eject the Saudi embassy from the United States though. this won't be done, but I think it ought to be.

Haven't we hustled a bunch of SA citizens who were on U.S. soil to Guantanamo or Gitmo to be tortured?
