non-ironic post. the voodoo/hoodoo/root-work tradition and its connections to West African religion are non-ambiguous. I'm a little surprised that the journal wants to intellectualize and academize it, since it's typically not anything like that, but i guess thats what they do.
what's confusing about that? the subject matter area is pretty well defined.

They really should have just called it "voodoo/hoodoo" instead of "Black folx conjuring womanist spiritualities" - would have instantly made more sense!
