just want everyone to know that Canola Oil is a fake name made up to conceal the true name of the plant it comes from. It's Rapeseed oil. You already know why they made up the fake name.

It’s usually ‘rapeseed’ in Britain. canola is a gm strain I think, created in Canada. Canola is more common in US. British fields are increasingly rotated with rapeseed.

i'm unoffended by any variety of 'splaining and enjoy learning bits of trivia regardless. yes, Canola is a specific variety of Rapeseed but that isn't why they changed the name for marketing in the U.S.
