I always tell people, "anarchocapitalism has my heart, but in practice..." ugh why can't I be more of a hardcore transhumanist voluntaryist
what's your opinion on the free market of babies in particular
You know I'm an antinatalist right? But no antinatalist policy is remotely practical or even thinkable with authoritarianism
oh I didn't know you were *that* antinatalist tbh when I told Sarah about this she pretty much said antinatalism includes whatever births happen being as good as possible! are you going to out-natalist her
No I agree with that, antinatalism is all about minimizing suffering
I just don't get it, but I'm the other weird extreme: no way of rationalizing death as ok has ever sounded convicing to me, so I'm going to anti-ageing research
chasing QALYs is one-thing but I don't know how clinical immortality can be justified as anything except permanent colonization of the future and theft from the unborn
the only way that's not a problem is if scarcity is eliminated and we live in a utopian wonderland with unlimited resources, including living space
What about when scarcity is *reduced*? Is natalism/immortality proportionately justified? If more space is made into "living space" (since that's the actual problem), is there a way to adjust the moral value of natalism/immortality? Or does "more people" => "more suffering"?
that's an interesting idea.
