If someone homeless or otherwise destitute recognize that “learn to code” is likey not the best option, and is extraordinarily difficult until you solve the homeless/destitute problem. A mental state of terror and exhaustion is not the right time to learn a complex skill.

Housing will help get people off the streets. How do you solve the mental state though? My guess is 5-MeO-DMT.https://www.maps.org/research

I sincerely doubt it. If a person is on the street because they had a psychotic break leading to lasting instability then a psychedelic treatment is probably the worst thing for them. The studies at the moment are focused on treatment of PTSD and anxiety disorders mostly.

This makes sense. Admittedly, I was mostly referring to addiction issues but obviously that’s a blanket statement even in and of itself. I wonder what the effects of psychedelic treatments on people with psychosis are. Def bad idea but is there documentation of what happens?

from memory, there is significant risk factor in young people with genetic predisposition for schizophrenia. a psychedelic trip might trigger a psychotic break. the peak risk demographic there is 15-30 years old with a direct genetic relation with schizophrenia.

I don't recall reading about any studies of the effects of psychedelics on people with already fully developed schizophrenia or other psychoses, but I have an intuition that it's not a good idea.
