what about the Kent State College incident?

Then my original claim is objectively correct on the matter at hand and I have no idea why you were pressing this so intensely.
-
this is not me being intense. I would, however, like to discover if you are willing to discuss the history of right wing violent extremism by both state and non-state actors, which is a prevalent thread in the history of the U.S.
-
we don't have to label it "terrorism" if that displeases you

>Do you have a moment to talk about our creepy self-hating religion that will try to control your life if you join us No.
-
it's really weird that you think I'm in any way aligned with the liberal guilt social justice movement. I'm not.
-
Sure. You just hit 'like' on every tweet they make when arguing with me.
-
I'm truly sorry you find disagreement and imaginary internet points to be so distressing.

You're the one who showed up to lecture me.

Yes this. I think that while there are useful distinctions to draw between typical state terrorism and counter-state terrorism, the line blurs (e.g. the KKK was both) and they deserve a common category.
-
this is why I'm saying semantic arguments are boring. there's a larger category that describes the full spectrum of politically motivated violence against non-combatants. I don't especially care about the word "terrorism" itself. there's a whole phenomenon here to dig into.
-
Perhaps, but that would be a different discussion entirely. The fact that someone of a given race can't even safely survive certain neighborhoods in this country is a form of political violence as well, and that too is a different discussion.
-
Should I call that terrorism too? Should I call asymmetric crime rates with political significance terrorism too? Where do you draw the line? I doubt you would like the results.
-
If you're confusing me for a doctrinaire leftist you are mistaken. I'm indifferent to the results. Statistics require interpretation and I am interested in seeing multiple interpretations of the data to attempt to learn what might be true. I try to take nothing for granted.
-
I find it plausible that certain types of crime are in the same category as terrorism. Drug cartel actions pattern match this fairly well in a lot of cases. I would hesitate to make overly general claims though and I'm not an expert on this topic.
-
alright, we're done then. I really don't mind talking about this stuff but if you're going to insult me I'm out. see ya later.
