The point isn't explicitly made, but it seems to imply that specificity of inhibitory network topology is responsible for both the constants and the ability to suppress them under normal circumstances: "A generically wired visual cortex would be contaminated by hallucinations..."https://twitter.com/QuantaMagazine/status/1024538977880236032 …

"Klüver also worked with subjects who reported tactile hallucinations, such as cobwebs crawling across their skin. Ermentrout thinks this is consistent with a cobweb-like form constant mapped onto the somatosensory cortex."

acid is an experiment in Kantianism (hence the "transcendental" thingummy). it consistently blurs and dims the objects of experience so that one has access to pure consciousness.

There's no such thing! Tripping is experimental xenophenomenology, breaking (out of) the black box! ... *makes impulse purchase decision*

It seriously throws me for a loop that pyschopharm isn't thought of as an urgent core topic for several philosophical domains. Metabolizing particular molecules can fundamentally alter the transcendental schemata, what are you doing with your life

I particularly enjoy the treatment of Whitehead's process philosophy in here. It's a very academic writing style but is more accessible than quite a lot of other academic philosophy that I've tried to read.
