you do know that pacman -Rdd works, right there's also a pacman command to ignore every single dependency that a thing has and uninstall it

the ideal age of a package is 6-9 months imo, newer than that and you are essentially a post-release QA tester. older than that and you may have missing features or interoperability problems.
