If knowledge & reflection on a good life are Important, then the need for these shouldn’t be satisfied by a brief four years of lectures & exams. A lifetime of learning instead of a lifetime of debt & repayment of an absurd burden accrued over a few overpriced semesters.

Right, you shouldn't cease and nevermore search for knowledge or reflect on the good life once you exit the University. It's supposed to be training so you learn a lifelong skill and practice it habitually. That most don't do this is a failing of the current debased system.
