Why should I believe this story as reported is in any way false? The linked story contains no corrections or amendments. Even if you see this being 'weaponized' (because it does look very bad), that doesn't necessarily change the core facts.

If you mean to complain about selective reporting then that might be more reasonable, but I'm not seeing any fabrication.http://slatestarcodex.com/2015/09/16/cardiologists-and-chinese-robbers/ …

Leaving out facts about an incident to intentionally mislead someone is called lying.

Ah, I think this might be what everyone is dancing around directly stating. Not sure if I agree that not reporting the race of the perpetrator makes the story a liepic.twitter.com/3oEN6D9D7t

That's because you're still pretending the article had semantic content beyond "Opposing Party Client Group BAD"

Ah, so this is one of those cases where what seem to be facts (a man was viciously beaten by nativists, photos of same, etc) merely obscures the capital-T Truth, which is.. Black people can't be nativists so this shouldn't make your side look bad?

now you're getting it. the narrative control unravels when some of the actors don't look the way they're "supposed" to

this was my original guess when nobody would state their objections in plain English but.. Ok, so what? I want someone to clearly state a reason why this isn't ok and my hunch is that the reason nobody wants to do so is that they know it's going to sound cartoonishly racist

there's a hierarchy of transgression in public communications and while it is largely unspoken it is widely agreed upon, especially by CNN and apparently also John Robb.
